Georgia man to spend rest of life in prison after killing cellmate over Chocolate Bar

What would you do for a Klondike bar? What about a Reese’s peanut butter cup? Would you kill your 57-year-old cell mate because he refused to give you all of his chocolate, but he shared some with you?

22-Year-old William Brooks decided that it was in his best interest to kill his cell mate, who refused to give him both of the peanut butter cups in a package of Reese’s.

According to police, Brooks punched 57-year-old Robert Grochowski in the throat, slammed his head into the wall, kicked him in the ribs, and then banged his head on the toilet bowl.

Sadly, Brooks was only in jail for theft, and Grochowski was in jail for outstanding warrants and drunk driving. What was supposed to be a short sentence, has now turned into a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the 22-year-old.

Prosecutors said that when deputies arrived on the scene, Brooks was smiling as he confessed to his crime. Furthermore, he willingly re-enacted the attack for investigators.
