There are two things you need to do to be a successful iPhone thief: Step 1) Steal an iPhone Step 2) Don’t be an idiot
Khayyam Alexander, a 16-year-old boy from Brooklyn turned himself into authorities after stealing an iPhone from a 14-year-old boy. Khayyam was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. So why did the teen turn himself in? Did he have an epiphany that involved him seeing the error in his ways?
No. Khayyam Alexander made the idiotic mistake of sending a selfie to the mother of the boy whose phone he had stolen. The mother revealed the photo to the police, and the Fuzz released the photo to the public in the hopes that someone would recognize Khayyam.
What kind of idiot sends a picture of themselves to someone they just robbed? It takes a certain kind of stupid to do that.
By the way, the selfie didn’t even discreately reveal his identity, it’s pretty obvious what he looks like.
