Forgive me father for I have sinned.
A 14-year-old Pennsylvania teenager has had his criminal record tarnished after pretending to receive oral sex from a statue of Jesus Christ kneeling down. The statue, located in front of an organization called “Love in the name of Christ” was just too tempting for the teen to not pose with, and share the photos on Facebook. Unfortunately for the teen whose name has not been released, he faces two years in prison for desecrating a venerated object.
Another organization, Truth Wins Out, an LGBT advocacy nonprofit argued that the law should be considered unconstitutional, because it violates the establishment clause “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” and free speech rights “Congress shall make no law abridging the right to hump a statue of Jesus.”
No damage was done to the statue, which means that in most states, the act of humping the face of a statue doesn’t actually count as desecration. That being said, Christians were naturally outraged by what the teenager had done. It’s definitely insensitive, but it’s also a little funny.
Just look at him. If he’s the first person to do that, good for him. Put it on a resume.
