The terrorists have won.
Pilots of an American Airlines plane travelling from LAX to London decided to make a U-turn back to it’s terminal last night moments before it ascended after a passenger discovered a Wi-Fi network called “Al-Qaeda Free Terror Network.”
Hundreds of people were inconvenienced over the name of a goddamn Wi-Fi network. The plane was set to leave around 9:28 p.m. but passengers have been informed that the plane won’t be up in the air again until around 1 p.m. The reason for this is that the flight crew “timed out” until their rest period was over.
The passenger jet was searched and everyone on-board was questioned, but the owner of the network in question hasn’t been located yet. And in all honestly, I couldn’t care less if they find the owner of the network.
Is anyone out there that really believes that a terrorist organization would be so blunt to name their LA terrorist hideout “Al-Qaeda Free Terror Network”?
Literally thousands of dollars of resources were used last night, over the name of a Wi-Fi network. If that isn’t incredibly stupid, I’m not sure what is. Common sense should dictate say: “Is this a legitimate threat? No. No terrorist organization would be that stupid.”
Whoever named the Wi-Fi network is probably waking up this morning, seeing the daily headlines, and laughing to himself. This is, quite possibly, one of the best stories he will ever get to tell.
