Police in York, New York raced to a small neighborhood after a concerned citizen reported gunshots at around 2:03 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Witnesses told police that they saw 22-year-old Jerquan Dickson run out of a nearby alley after the gunshots were heard, and speed off in a maroon sedan. So, who was Dickson allegedly shooting at?
According to another witness, there were many ‘juvenile’ teenagers running around the neighborhood, some of which were carrying snowballs.
Police tracked down Dickson, who said that the teenagers were throwing snowballs at his car, although he denied shooting one of the boys. Dickson claims he fired once into the air, and then “several times” into the snow.
He wasn’t exactly telling the truth, because a 15-year-old boy is recovering from several non-life threatening gunshot wounds at the local hospital.
Police obtained a search warrant and found a 9mm Smith and Wesson hidden in a laundry basket at the home connected to Dickson. The shell casings found at the scene of the crime were 9 mm.
Dickson has been charged with two counts of felony Aggravated Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
