JAPAN – A 19-year-old college girl was arrested after she murdered an elderly woman with an axe and a scarf because, according to her, she “just wanted to kill someone.”
The girl was from the very prestigious Nagoya University, and struck the 77-year-old woman, Tomoko Mori, repeatedly with an axe. The girl then began to strangle the senior citizen “because she wasn’t completely dead.”
The killing took place inside of the student’s apartment in Nagoya, central Japan, with an axe that the student had acquired as a junior high school student. The woman felt comfortable entering the student’s apartment because she had already been acquainted with her after she tried to persuade the girl to join a religious group.
Crime levels are low in Japan because murder is rather uncommon. That being said, the murder that does take place there can often be disturbing.
The girl’s name has not been released to the public because she is a minor under Japanese law.
