“I’m not addicted, I swear.”
REDONDO, BEACH, California – A man, distracted by his smart phone, missed the experience of a lifetime when a humpback whale surfaced just feet away from his boat. He would have noticed it, and gotten a frighteningly close look at the creature, had it not been for his love of his phone.
Photographer Eric Smith told ABC News that he captured the moment, which has since been posted on Instagram, and is making it’s rounds on the internet.
“We’re all guilty of being buried in our phones, even me,” Smith told ABC News. “You think life is better on your phone, but we’re missing what’s happening around us.”
Smith said he was able to snap five different pictures of the whale with the sailboat in the background, and the man was on his phone in ever photo.
Is it fake? I wouldn’t be surprised.
