Personally, I would have used a longbow.
Cornelius Bazarov, 21, was arrested after trying to launch 18 mobile phones, spare batteries, and earpieces into a jail in Southern Russia. He was spotted after a guard noticed him moving through the bushes at 1:50 a.m. The guard immediately hit the alarm button, and a search ensued.
Bazarov was found stumbling through the bushes soon after, but it wasn’t until the early hours of the morning that police found his bag, only 100 metres from the prison, containing 10 crossbow bolts, the phones, SIM cards, and a crossbow.
Prison spokesman Daniel Krylov said “Phones are almost as bad as drugs in prison…When inmates get their hands on them they have access to their criminal network and can even commit crimes while they’re safely in here with an alibi.”
Cornelius Bazarov is now facing jail time, and the exact reason why he tried to complete this absurd plan remains a mystery for the time being.
