Police in Pattaya, Thailand, were forced to shoot out the tires of a car driven by an American tourist after she crashed into one vehicle, continued to drive down the wrong side of the road, and collided with 13 more vehicles. The driver injured at least two people during the incident, which lasted more than 30 minutes.
The whole ordeal started when the American tourist, identified as Amanda, was involved in an accident with another vehicle. Instead of stopping, she continued to drive on the wrong side of the road. Police were forced to shoot out her tires in order to stop further damage from happening.
The vehicle finally came to a stop, but Amanda refused to open the door. Officers had to break the front passenger window, and dragged her out of the car and put her into police custody immediately. The police put her in custody to protect her from an incredibly angry mob made up of witnesses and victim that formed while the police chase ensued.
Amanda was given a large traffic fine and ordered by the court to pay for all the damages she caused to the vehicles as well as the medical expenses of two people she had injured.
She said she regretted her actions, and refused to stop for police because she was afraid and panicked.
Worst. Spring break. Ever.
