Man V Food Star Goes Vegan

It sounds like he lost.

Alan Richman, the man who starred on the Travel Channel TV show, Man v. Food, has announced that once again, he is going vegan.

This should come as a surprise to some, because on the show, Richman would be seen eating over-sized steaks, massive burgers, and another other assortment of meat products he could find. Typically, the food he would eat would be part of some sort of food challenge offered by a restaurant.

Richman explained that although he’s on a vegan diet, that doesn’t mean he isn’t ever going to eat meat again.

“Does that mean I’m not going to have a steak? No,” he told the Independent. “I absolutely will when I want to, but it’s just about picking and choosing my spots. And when I want to have that cow and I want to have that bacon, I’m going to make it count. I’m going to make it great quality.”

Richman said he’s looking to live a healthy lifestyle. In the past year, he’s dropped 70 pounds. He says he’s motivated b participating in Soccer Aid, a celebrity event sponsored b UNICEF.
