In 2005, a 12-Year-Old Girl Was Kidnapped By 4 Men. You’ll Never Guess Who Came To Her Rescue
I can’t believe this actually happened.
Back in June, 2005, a 12-year-old Ethiopian girl was kidnapped on her way home from school. She was taken by four men, who, not a week later, were being chased by the police.
While on the run, the four men encountered three lions, which according to the girl, and to police, chased the men off. The lions then stayed with the girl without harming her, before leaving her side as the police searching for her came closer.
The girl was terrified, but safe nonetheless, despite being beaten by her kidnappers.
“They stood guard until we found her and then they just left her like a gift and went back into the forest,” the policeman said.
While many lion experts have expressed doubts that the lions left her like some sort of gift, they also believe the girl was in immediate danger until the police approached the lions.
“They were probably preparing to at her but were intercepted by the police and the others,” said game hunter, Colonel Lemma Legesse.
An Ethiopian wildlife expert said that the lions may have spared the girl’s life because her crying could have sounded like the sound a lion cub makes.
Regardless, it’s either some kind of miracle – or she’s a lion whisperer.
The four men were later caught by the police.
